My first newsletter + a personal introduction đź‘‹
Hello friends,
Our online community has grown tremendously over the last few months; we are almost 800 members strong!
I want to take this moment to reintroduce myself and welcome those who have recently joined us and thank those who have been here since the beginning. I'm feeling both inspired and grateful.
![]() | My name is Shelley Malcolm, and my mission is to support women like you through menopause and beyond by teaching sustainable lifestyle shifts. |
I believe there is no need to suffer through menopause; I am here as your guide, offering a straightforward, lasting, and science-based approach to navigating menopausal symptoms like unexplained weight gain, food cravings, brain fog, and more.
I don’t believe in restrictive diets. I don’t believe the number on your scale determines your health. I don’t believe in naming foods “bad” or “good.” These tactics don’t work - trust me, I’ve tried them all.
I do believe in proven and sustainable lifestyle shifts to support lasting positive change. My approach combines the most current menopausal health research, decades of personal experience, and more recent work with 1:1 clients like you.
Everything I recommend, I have tried and implemented myself.
My health journey started when I was a teenage girl, becoming aware of my body for the first time…
My Wellness Journey
I've spent the last few weeks watching the US Women’s Gymnastics team compete in the Olympics, as I’m sure many of you have too. I was overcome with pride and emotion while watching…not because of the result but because of how strong and powerful our gymnasts looked.
I too was a competitive gymnast throughout my formative teenage years – but unlike our current athletes, I experienced intense pressure to be strong while also skinny. These pressures instilled a skewed view of what a strong and healthy body looked like, setting me up for what would become decades of mood swings, injuries, and discomfort in my own skin.
As peri-menopause hit, I tried many fad diets to keep the weight off - only for the scale to boomerang back to more than where I started. No matter my size, the chronic pain and negative thoughts persisted.
It wasn’t until after my first-born child departed for college that I decided to make time for myself to find sustainable answers.
Through continued education, research, and much trial and error - I have found a set of sustainable lifestyle shifts that have helped me break free from diet culture and find my path to optimal health through menopause and beyond. I'm still a work in progress, but my journey has allowed me to shed layers of self-doubt and criticism.
I look forward to finding your personalized path, together.
The momentum of this community inspires me to deliver helpful content that supports your menopause journey. I can’t wait to share what I’m working on with you all soon!
Yours in optimal health,
Shelley
