Enjoy the menopause-friendly creations of my weekend alone

Hello friends,
Spring has almost sprung!
![]() | So, here we are—new empty-ish nesters. This past weekend, I found myself completely alone. No kids, no husband, just me. At first, it felt… weird. Like, what do I even do with myself? But then, without really thinking about it, I found myself in the kitchen experimenting—kind of like when I was little, making mud pies in the woods or mixing up “perfume” from my mom’s lotion and whatever else I could get my hands on. |
This time though, my creations were actually edible (and delicious, if I do say so myself)! My goal was to create higher protein, lower carbohydrate options of comfort foods from my childhood (I’m sensing a theme here). I’ve linked my creations here; let me know what you think!
Menopause Friendly Recipes
![]() | Peanut Butter CookiesThis is a low glycemic adaptation from my mom’s delicious peanut butter cookies. To be honest, this was my second attempt; I wouldn’t dare share the first version with you! |
It was fun. It was a little lonely. I wouldn’t want to spend every weekend solo, but there was something really nice about having space to be creative. Maybe that was the best part.
Ever found yourself doing something totally unexpected when you had extra time alone? Tell me I’m not the only one who turns into a mad scientist in the kitchen. 😆 Reply and let me know!
